I need help with my math homework?
Well i need some help with my math homework. here is what the problems are:
Jeremey and Jessica are at a carnival. A. at a food stand, hot dogs cost 99 cents each plus 7% tax. How much will Jeremey and Jessica be charged for one hot dog?
B. They stop at a ball toss game. The sign reads, “Get three balls for 50 cents or six balls for 80 cents?” What percent would they save by buying one set of six balls instead of two sets of three balls? explain? If anyone can please help me i would appreciate it!. :] thank you!.
A) .99(the cost of a hot dog) X 1.07( 1 hot dog X .07 (7%)in tax)=$1.593(round down to $1.59, if it was $1.595 or higher, it would be $1.06)
The answer is $1.59.
B) 2 sets of three balls is 2X.50 cents= $1.00
one set of 6 balls is 80 cents
80 cents divided by 100cents =.80 which means they’re paying 80% of the price,(80% of 100%)saving them (100 – 80)=20%
The answer is 20%.
